Rather than placing another layer over the existing construction, RGPack removed the accumulated material, exposed the underlying conditions, improved the supporting section with approximately 8–10 inches of compacted aggregate base, and rebuilt the driveway from the improved base upward.

Completed April 2026
This Triangle Forest project involved a complete residential driveway replacement and approximately 1,100 square feet of additional driveway space.
The existing driveway had widespread cracking, settlement, broken sections, and tree-root-related damage. Water was also pooling near the home.
The finished project included approximately 3,000 square feet of concrete, side-yard excavation and regrading, root removal, a dedicated channel drain, reconstruction of the narrow walkway, and a wider curved entrance designed to improve access for vehicles, campers, boats, and truck-and-trailer combinations.
The driveway used approximately 36–38 cubic yards of 4,000 PSI concrete at approximately 4–5 inches thick, with fiber reinforcement and steel wire reinforcement throughout. The extension was built over a compacted aggregate base and finished with a broom surface, smooth picture-frame borders, hand-tooled control joints, and a saw-cut asphalt transition.
Scottish Hills Complete Driveway Reconstruction
Completed November 2025
This Scottish Hills project involved a driveway more than 100 feet long, multiple parking areas, walkways, and steps, covering approximately 2,972 square feet.
The existing driveway dated to 1976 and had cracking, uneven areas, drainage problems, and water collecting near the house and garage.
Once demolition began, the crew discovered multiple layers of old concrete, including sections approximately 12–14 inches thick, along with buried brick. Beneath the old slabs were clay, localized soft areas, and evidence of substantial subsurface water movement.
RGPack removed the accumulated concrete and brick, addressed unsuitable material where practical within the project scope, installed approximately 8–10 inches of compacted aggregate base, corrected finished grades, and incorporated a rear catch basin and drainage pipe.
The new driveway was primarily approximately 4 inches thick with fiber reinforcement, with selected areas near the house increased to approximately 5–6 inches. Walkways and steps were also reconfigured where appropriate.
