Concrete Services in Wake Forest

A broom finish driveway curing

This residential driveway demolition project involved removing the existing concrete to prepare the property for the next phase of construction.

Concrete Driveways

A driveway needs to do more than provide a place to park. It needs to handle daily vehicle traffic, water runoff, changing grades, and the layout of your property.

RG PACK Concrete installs concrete driveways for new homes, additions, replacements, and larger residential properties throughout Wake Forest.

We can help with driveway layout, preparation, reinforcement, finishing, control joints, and drainage considerations based on the property.

Concrete Driveway Repair

Not every driveway needs to be completely replaced.

Depending on the condition of the concrete, repairs may be an option. We can evaluate the existing driveway and discuss what makes sense for the property rather than automatically recommending replacement.

Driveway Replacement

If your existing driveway is badly cracked, deteriorated, uneven, or no longer works well for the property, replacement may be the right option.

We remove existing concrete when necessary, prepare the area, and install a new driveway designed around the property's layout and intended use.

Concrete Patios

A concrete patio can create additional outdoor living space without the maintenance associated with some other patio materials.

RG PACK Concrete installs concrete patios for homeowners in Wake Forest and surrounding communities, including traditional broom-finished and decorative concrete options.

Concrete Slabs

We install concrete slabs for residential applications where a properly prepared, level concrete surface is needed.

The appropriate preparation and construction approach depends on the intended use, dimensions, site conditions, and property.

Sidewalks & Walkways

Concrete sidewalks and walkways provide durable connections between driveways, homes, patios, yards, and other areas of the property.

We install residential walkways with attention to layout, transitions, finish, and drainage.

Stamped & decorative Concrete

Concrete does not have to look the same on every property.

Stamped and decorative concrete can add visual detail to patios, walkways, pool areas, and other residential spaces.

Concrete Pool Decks

A pool deck needs to function as both an outdoor living area and a walking surface around the pool.

RG PACK Concrete installs concrete pool decks with consideration for layout, finish, drainage, and how the space will be used.

Retaining Walls

Retaining walls can help address changes in elevation and organize different areas of a property.

Where retaining walls are appropriate for a project, we can incorporate them into the overall concrete and site-work plan.

A Wake Forest Concrete Contractor With Local Experience

RG PACK Concrete isn't simply adding Wake Forest to a service-area list.

The owner lives in Wake Forest with his family, and the company has completed substantial concrete work in the area.

That local experience matters because residential concrete projects can vary significantly from property to property.

A driveway on a relatively flat lot presents different considerations than a long driveway running uphill and downhill, crossing drainage areas, and serving a large custom home.

One example is a new-construction project we completed for a custom home in Wake Forest.

Wake Forest Concrete Driveway Project: 800+ Feet of Reinforced Concrete

One of our Wake Forest projects involved a long residential driveway for a new-construction custom home.

The project included the driveway, house pad, parking and maneuvering areas, and drainage considerations across a property with significant elevation changes.

The homeowner wanted a permanent driveway solution for the new home rather than continuing with a gravel surface. An asphalt option was also considered, but concrete was selected for the project.

The property's elevation changes, turns, drainage crossings, and large house and garage area made the project more involved than a simple straight driveway.

The completed driveway incorporated additional aggregate preparation, fiber reinforcement, welded-wire reinforcement, planned control joints, broom finishing, and drainage work.

Planning Around Drainage and Elevation

One of the important aspects of the project was that drainage could not simply be treated as water moving in one direction.

The driveway crossed different sections of the property, including uphill and downhill areas and roadside drainage.

Drainage was planned by segment, with grading and runoff control considered according to the conditions in each part of the driveway.

The road entrance also required a culvert crossing as part of the overall driveway approach.

Reinforcement and Concrete Construction

The driveway was constructed at approximately 5 inches thick using 4,000 PSI concrete.

Fiber was incorporated into the concrete mix along with rolled welded-wire reinforcement. Additional aggregate was also placed over the established construction-access base in areas where additional preparation was needed.

A Functional Finish for a Long Driveway

The driveway received a broom finish with smooth picture-frame borders and tooled control joints.

On more pronounced uphill and downhill sections, a heavier broom texture was used to provide additional traction.

The control joints were laid out in the field according to the dimensions, geometry, and transitions of the slab rather than treating the entire driveway as one uniform section.

What the Homeowner Had to Say

5 stars
"Ryan and his team did a great job on our long concrete driveway! We have recommended his company to several of our neighbors. Very personable and reliable."
Cody P.
Wake Forest Homeowner

The project was completed over approximately nine working days with four primary concrete placements.

Concrete Work Planned Around Your Property

Every property is different.

A straightforward driveway replacement may have relatively simple access and grading. A new driveway for a custom home can involve elevation changes, drainage crossings, large parking areas, turning areas, and construction access.

That’s why we look at more than just the concrete surface.

Depending on the project, planning may involve:

  • Existing site conditions
  • Base preparation
  • Driveway layout
  • Drainage and runoff
  • Elevation changes
  • Reinforcement
  • Control-joint layout
  • Concrete placement
  • Finishing
  • Access for concrete trucks and equipment
  • Parking and maneuvering requirements

The goal is to build the concrete around the property and how you actually intend to use it.
